Jaisalmer Glimpses

India. Although you’re already in the State of Rajasthan, this place feels extra exotic. Jaisalmer was on the camel route of old and even with its modern buildings, it has a bit of a Tales of the Arabian Nights feel. While you don’t want to miss its colorful bazaar and Fort Palace Museum, the best part is walking around the city center. After a four day camel safari, supping at a rooftop restaurant here felt extravagant and wonderful.

These four photos are views from a Jain Temple in Jaisalmer from 1999. The sand stone lends to the moniker, Golden City.  Stretch your eyes. Feel the heat. Smell the dung. Experience the vibrancy.
