Happiness is

It seems like I’m on a journey of sorts. I live in a place where 70 percent of the population is fully vaccinated against COVID-19. I’m re-learning “normal.”

Interacting with people, stepping closer, sharing a secret, elbowing, hugging, sharing a footstool…   Whether engaged in a lawn game or visiting on an outdoor porch, it feels new.  Smiles and laughter insert themselves for no reason.

Zoom and the like were ever helpful this past year, but in-person brings more spontaneity. Now, I’m interacting with multiple people with no enforced delay from internet connections.  

Thank goodness for the science of vaccination.  I raise my glass.
